OUR DATA PRACTICES

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how TraceStamp Camera handles information in the Android app and on this website. An iOS app has not been released.

Effective: 26 September 2026Last updated: 12 October 2026
The Android app has no account, advertising, or analytics SDK. A current location is required for every capture. To find a nearby mapped place or address, the app sends coordinates and reported accuracy to our Vercel endpoint, which queries Geoapify using OpenStreetMap data. The device address service is a fallback. Captured media stays on your device.

1. Who this covers

TraceStamp Camera is operated by Saul Redemption Services LLC ("we," "us"). This policy covers the TraceStamp Camera Android app and tracestamp-camera.vercel.app. It does not describe a future iOS app or features that have not shipped. We will review and update this policy before those products or features launch.

2. Information the Android app accesses

The app accesses device features to provide capture and stamping. It does not upload your photos, videos, custom text, or settings. When location is available, it sends coordinates and reported accuracy to our Vercel-hosted location endpoint. That endpoint passes them to Geoapify for a nearby place search and, if needed, reverse address lookup. We do not create an app account or a separate location-history database. Vercel may keep request logs, and Geoapify retains API request data as described in its privacy policy. If the hosted lookup fails, Android’s address service may use its own network provider.

Data or permissionHow it is used
CameraShows a live preview and captures photos or video when you use the camera. The finished media is saved to your device.
MicrophoneAdds audio to a video when you grant microphone permission and record. If you deny permission, video can be recorded without audio. The app does not record audio on its own.
Approximate or precise locationA current device location is required to take a photo or start a video. The app reads location while it is open, rejects fixes older than 30 seconds, and does not request background location. Your chosen display shows coordinates, a readable address, or both; both is the default. A video keeps its starting location visible while its timestamp advances. If you deny or revoke location permission, you cannot make a new capture.
Nearby place and address lookupThe app sends your coordinates and reported accuracy to our Vercel endpoint for Geoapify’s OpenStreetMap-based place search. It chooses the nearest named mapped place within the accuracy radius and labels it as nearby. If no named place is found, it uses the mapped address. If the hosted lookup fails, Android’s address service is a fallback and may contact its own provider. You can show place text, coordinates, or both; place text cannot be manually edited.
Device date, time and timezoneUsed to draw the visible timestamp. You can choose local time or UTC; accuracy depends on your device settings.
Custom note and stamp settingsYour note, location display mode, date style, font, color, size, background, spacing, line order and position are saved as local app preferences. Detected place text is kept only in the running app for the current area.

A saved capture may itself contain personal information, such as people, voices, your custom note, and your required location stamp. You decide what to record and share. Review the address before sharing because it can be imprecise or reveal a sensitive place.

3. Storage, retention and deletion

Photos and videos are saved in your device’s media library, in the Pictures/TraceStamp and Movies/TraceStamp folders. The app creates a temporary photo file while stamping it and deletes that temporary file after processing. The saved gallery files remain until you delete them with your device’s gallery or file manager; uninstalling the app may leave those files in your gallery.

Your custom note and stamp choices are saved in local app preferences. You can edit them in the app or remove them by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling it. We do not keep a server copy of these settings or your captures, so we cannot retrieve or delete them remotely.

4. Sharing you initiate

When you choose “View last” or “Share,” Android gives the selected app temporary access to that capture. A recipient app or service may collect, upload, retain, or share the media under its own terms and privacy policy. This is your choice; TraceStamp Camera does not automatically upload media to those services.

5. This website and APK downloads

This website and the app’s location lookup endpoint are hosted by Vercel. We have not added a contact form, advertising, analytics script, or tracking cookie to the site. Vercel may process technical request data, such as IP address, device or browser information, and request logs, to serve and protect the site and endpoint under its privacy notice. Geoapify processes coordinates and reported accuracy for place and address results under its privacy policy. Place names and addresses are based primarily on OpenStreetMap data.

The website's APK download buttons take you to GitHub, which hosts the public APK release. GitHub may process your visit and download under its privacy statement. If you install through Google Play, Google handles the store visit and app delivery under its privacy policy. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to respond to your request. We keep that correspondence as needed to handle the request or meet legal obligations; you can contact us to request its deletion, subject to any required retention.

6. Your choices

  • Decline or revoke camera, microphone or location access in Android settings. Camera and location are needed to capture; microphone access is optional for video audio.
  • Choose address, coordinates, or both for the required location stamp. Place text is chosen automatically from map data and cannot be edited in the app. Coordinates-only captures do not need a successful place lookup, although the app may request one for the preview.
  • Delete captures from your device’s gallery and clear app storage or uninstall to remove local settings.
  • Contact us about a privacy question or information you sent to us by email. We cannot access media stored only on your device.

7. Security and children

The Android app relies on Android’s permission controls and media storage. It uses internet access for location lookup but does not send media or settings to our servers. Location lookup recipients are described above. You should protect your device and review any app you share captures with. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

TraceStamp Camera is not designed specifically for children. We do not run accounts, advertising, or analytics in the app and do not knowingly receive children’s information through it.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when app features, permissions, data handling, third-party services, or website practices change. We will change the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, give additional notice in the app or on the website. Store privacy disclosures will be reviewed separately before store publication.
